June, Week 1
by Kat
My week is going well (in no particular order):

- Boot Camp kicks some ass and gives major endorphin highs
- My baby tetras are getting big and they're now out in the tank
- I just got a buttload of shirts from Threadless delivered
- I went to the dentist and got me some fillins
- My new physical therapist seems pretty cool
- Justin's dad is coming to town tomorrow

Hurray!

Coincidentally, I just stumbled across this uh, interesting music video that I first saw in the dorms at UO. I haven't watched it for six years and it still cracks me up. Catchy, too:

Girlish Glee
by Kat
This weekend was chock-full of girlish glee. In addition to baby snorgles on Saturday, we spent three well-earned hours at Banya 5 soaking in the pools and crisping in the sauna. I even had a delicious half-hour deep-tissue massage. Yummy.

Friday after work I had my hair cut & colored at Habitude in Fremont. It's nice to walk out the door of the office and straight into the salon. One of the perks of being freakishly tall is that usually no one notices that I need to get my hair re-colored because they can't see the top of my head. Unfortunately, that also means I usually put off getting my hair cut/colored for way too long. It was past time. But now I feel great!

Sunday, I went to I Do Bridal in Wallingford to try on some dresses I'd written down. I only had about a half-hour appointment, but we got through six potentials. None of them left a super-strong impression, though it doesn't matter much at this point. I won't be making a purchase ANY time soon.

After that, Amy and I celebrated the weekend's end with some hard core American-consumerism a la Costco and Home Despot. Because everyone needs 26 cans of tomato paste to go with 6 gallons of soy sauce, amirite?

How else would I make 28 gallons of BBQ Sauce?

Baby Rabies
by Kat
I had some major baby face-time yesterday. We had brunch together with Justin's college roommate and visited her 4-month-old son, Caleb. The little guy was very well behaved. I munched on his cheeks and gurgled at him for several hours, much to his delight and that of his mommy.

Weirdly, we started the day with a dose of baby and ended it seeing "Knocked Up," which is playing at the Guild 45th near our apartment. The movie is hilarious. A little on the long side, but pretty freaking clever throughout. In the end, it's pretty touching, too. (I just wish Katherine Heigl had decided to show off her boobs... she is pretty hot after all, and who has sex wearing a bra?!)

Justin and I have recently talked about our plans for having kids of our own. It won't be for several years, since we'd like to be married (obvy), have more of a savings, and possibly own a house. However, I'd venture to guess that it won't be more than five years-- likely closer to three-- until we start trying. It will have to be a carefully orchestrated decision because I'll have to get my copper IUD yanked out (OW) beforehand. For that, I'm thankful, because it gives me the freedom to have all the episodes of "baby rabies" I want without actually being able to succumb to the impulse. Hooray for planned parenting!

(I think he's doing "blue steel" in this last one. :D)

OOH he's cute! You look like you are having a lot of fun! It's probably gonna be about two to three years for us too. Unless my doctor tells me I have to have a baby to stop the cysts. Then, who knows. My mom told me she doesn't want to be anybody's grandma for a long time. Oma, however, I think is secretly wishing for great grandbabies without saying so.

That baby suits you. You two look cute together.

Kat is very fond of other people's children. Strangely enough our friends usually turn down her offer to take their kids off of their hands.

Go figure.

Yeah, all of the baby with none of the lacerations! HEH.

aww! What a cute lil chubby-lumpkins!

dear kat,
(re: your post about weight and these pix)
i had written a post expressing cameraderie about your weight-loss musings. however, upon seeing that you are a 10, the kind of girl the rest of us secretly hate (not really), i hereby retract my statement. kthnx.
-- a very bitter "average" girl.

Dear Anon,

LOL. Thanks. :D These fotos flatter me. I iz not so great. (Also one of the awesome parts about running my own blog/photo site... I get to throw out all the pics that make me look bad.)

My apologies,

Kat
