Is there "odd man out" written on my forehead or something? Seriously, even when I'm making a genuine effort to be a part of a group, I somehow feel pushed to the side. Story of my life, of course, is that it takes me so long to fit in anywhere (square peg, this one) that I'll be moving on again by the time I do.

I'm really trying here. Guess it ain't good enough.

Let's throw a fucking Emo pity-party. I'll be the one wearing the black shirt that says NO ONE LIKES ME.

A few things coupled together to give me that shitty-in-general feeling.

are you one of those hot girls who is made to feel like she's only wanted for her hotness? one of the saddest things i ever heard was this amazingly fine girl named crystal who said every time she started falling for a guy he'd say something like "sorry, i just wanted you for your body".

Anon: well, I haven't always been "good looking"... late bloomer, you know. But I do get that feeling sometimes and it is really shitty. But I'm not referring to that in this specific case, thankfully.

Mom must have a square vagina, cuz I'm a square peg too. Oh well. You can sit at the emo table and be emo-tastic with me and Jeff's brother. A good time will be had by all. Or at least we can all hate the world for hating us, united in our emo-tastic misery.

it seems i've picked a less than bouyant time to jump in and say: thanks for making your presence known on the art blog. i appreciate it. (it's coming back, btw... HARD).

that being said, i hope you find a square hole soon.

all the best.

Oh dude. We can be squares together. I'm that person who, whenever I'm in a big, laughing happy group, I chime in something i think is funny along the same lines and everyone stops and looks at me.

I'm the person who didn't make even one friend in the dorms, when every single other person seemed to find at least a few others.

But you know... over time I came to the realization that even though I seem to stick out like a sore thumb in nearly every situation, I still have managed to secure a few dear friends over the years, and even a man (who is a fellow "square"). I think you can say the same for yourself, right?

You know how many Emos it takes to change a lightbulb?

None. . . "The Darkness wells from within my soul!"

Not funny, I know. . . but I made it up myself.
You'll always fit in 'round Chez Smith, kiddo! We're so weird, you'll just fit right in!

It's worth a chuckle ;-)

Cheer up Numine: Someday you'll find another square peg who thinks ALL your jokes are funny and that you have all the right number of wheels.
