Breed 'em Out

Apparently the Fox News channel is not only embracing ridiculous Christian fundamentalist dimwits who champion the so-called "war on Christmas," but also giving a platform for the same idiots to voice their white supremacist BULLSHIT. I cannot even believe that a "news" channel would consider airing the following broadcast, but Fox News did on the 11th of this month, and it is real:

[ Via Media Matters ]

On the May 11 edition of Fox News' The Big Story, host John Gibson advised viewers during the "My Word" segment of his program to "[d]o your duty. Make more babies." He then cited a May 10 article, which reported that nearly half of all children under the age of five in the United States are minorities. Gibson added: "By far, the greatest number [of children under five] are Hispanic. You know what that means? Twenty-five years and the majority of the population is Hispanic." Gibson later claimed: "To put it bluntly, we need more babies." Then, referring to Russia's projected decline in population, Gibson claimed: "So far, we are doing our part here in America but Hispanics can't carry the whole load. The rest of you, get busy. Make babies, or put another way -- a slogan for our times: 'procreation not recreation'."

You heard right. But if you'd like to witness the sheer bloody asshattery yourself, visit Media Matters for America and watch the clip/read the transcript yourself.

unfortunately, this is the same rhetoric that brownfolk have been enduring for over 400 years. this isn't a black/white issue anymore: it's about the brown. why doesn't anyone pay attention to the plights of our brown bretheren?

fox providing this platform is ridiculous indeed, but it's not all that surprising. what would be surprising would be if someone stepped up in a public forum and actually recognized that everything tastes better with a little brown sugar. (doesn't everyone know that?!?)
