This blog has been getting a lot of attention from the folks directed to this blog via my SEOmoz profile. So welcome, everyone. I find myself only slightly embarrassed that you are here, but that will pass in another week or so. It's interesting to have a considerably "personal" blog in so public a space, but it's happened before-- when my old blog, Schoolgirl Sophistry was hosted on the UO's .edu servers and became the #1 Google hit for the search term "schoolgirl." ... yeah. Nevertheless, I'll continue this social experiment until I get Dooced or worse. Why not?
I forgot to mention the beer tasting I went to with my dad last weekend. A friend of Justin's & mine spends much of her office job winning radio contests. She's the one who hooked the neo-con company Jimmy Dean into putting on the Sausage Fest for the people at The Abbey. So she won two tickets to Hops on Equinox, a beer fest at the Seattle center. For them, we gained one $20 entry each, with a souvenir glass and six free 6 oz. tastings, though for some reason they gave us not SIX but NINE tasting tickets each. Mmm-MM, 54 ounces of free beer! We spent many of our trying the "red carpet" imported beers, which cost two each. Nevertheless, there wasn't much to do but drink and refill and I soon found myself slightly tanked. We ended up spending our last three tickets on mini meat pies from Pies & Pints. I ought to record what we tasted, for good measure, so...

I'm proud to say that I've developed a taste for the stuff, even if Justin still can't handle it. I like beers without a bitter aftertaste. Actually, I pretty much enjoy any beer that doesn't have an aftertaste-- that's what kills it for me. I guess the same can be said of life. *chuckles* Anyhow, we've got a full weekend planned with an early start and late end tomorrow (a massage in-between, hurrah!) so I'm off to bed.

I'm so proud of you, beer drinking girl!! ;)
The Grand Cru would be classed as a Belgian Strong Dark Ale, as categories go... I know, I'm a beer geek, but there are worse things to geek out over.

Mmm... 1554... mmm...
I'm going to be so sad when I move away from a place where I can get all those brews at my local store. Except maybe the Grand Cru.
