First, it was freakishly huge. Huge enough that apparently the chicken had trouble pushing it out and left sphincter marks around the widest part of it. Then, it cracked during the boil, which upset me because sometimes that makes for a watery egg. I guess it was too large for its shell. However, it was delicious and peeled perfectly. But when I took the shell off of it, I saw this [clickable]:

That is the "uncut" egg. The little cup where the air bubble is inside the shell is filled with yolk. Wtf? Had it leaked out of the center? No... I cut it in half to find a SECOND yolk!

Maybe that's why the egg was so stupidly large. It was supposed to be twins! Mmm, delicious unfertilized chicken foetus.

umm, ew?
Thanks a lot Kat!
I was beginning to enjoy my scrambled eggs in the morning.
But now I think I will have to stay away from eggs for awhile.

I was so intrigued with the twin yolk egg I had to know more. So here you go.
Pay no attention to the part about how the two-yolk egg is unlucky.
This article puts the "fun" in "infundibulum."
